~White Wednesday # 40~

Once again Wednesaday has rolled around and can you believe this is No. 40. It seems like just yesterday I was wanting to test the waters with this idea. I want to thank everyone who has helped to make this a fun day that so many of you look forward to. I noticed today that I also have received my 500th follower. I started my blog in March 2009, so it's been a whole year and I've posted over 100 posts(is that all). Seems like a great time for a giveaway. Not sure what yet and will have to think about it, but check back for my next post and I'm sure I'll have come up with something by then. Thanks again for making this experience so fun and to all the great people I've met both in person and on the internet.

Today was a nice warm sunny day and I had some time to get out in my yard this afternoon. I've always been drawn to white enamelware and can't even part with the ones that are rusty and have holes in them. These are great for planters and most of mine hold some sort of sedum. I think they just go together, don't you? Enjoy! xoxo K.

  1. Love the planters and the plants. Succulents are one of my favorite types of plants to grow.

I wish I could afford to make a "green roof" and cover it with succulents.

  3. Hi Kathleen!

I am so with you in the love of old white enamelware! My grandparents had a lot of it and it has migrated to our family cabin. My mom was talking about getting all new pots and pans for the cabin and I told her to make sure she does NOT just toss all the white enamelware, give it to me!!! LOL

Congrats at 500 followers!! That is wonderful!

  6. I planted my first sedums last Spring, one in an old bucket and it was the first thing to pop up and turn green this Spring. Love it! Happy White Wednesday Kathleen.

  7. I'm starting to get more into succulents these days. Especially here in SoCal, where we try not to waste water! The enamelware really is great look. I need to get to work on my garden. My oldest daughter who owns the nursery behind Country Roads just did a big make over out there. Maybe I can get her over to my garden!
    Take care, Sue

  8. Kathleen,

Seems like we are all succulent crazy! I am because they are so patient with me and don't keel over dead like a lot of other stuff here in the desert.

Congratulations on 500! It does call for a celebration!

And thanks for all the WW's. Most of the good friends I've made in blogland are because you started this WW. I owe you big time.

  11. Thanks for hosting, believe it or not this is my first time liking up to ww. I like your planter and the plants that you call sedum, we call Cats & kittens or Hens & Chicks. I use to have lots of them but over the years friends and family would come over and want some until one spring there was no more.

    Hugs,
    Melissa

  51. I totally enjoyed your pictures. Congratulations on your amazing success on your blog in a year. I noticed that another person who commented said their love of white enamelware began with a grandparent. That was true for me too. When I had to clear out my grandma's house, I kept the enamelware (among other things) and so began a very large collection.
