Between putting all my Christmas decor away and getting ready for a sale the first weekend in February, I've been changing a few things around my home. I usually go through things and decide what to keep and what to sell. This primitive screened pie safe is definetly a keeper!
I've wanted one of these for a while now and felt that it looked right at home in my breakfast room. The french wine bottle rack got moved into the dining room for now.
I went through a cupboard in my kitchen and changed out all the pitchers for my brown transferware which was sitting on my architectural shelf collecting dust. They look better in the cupboard anyway and I'll share what I've changed around in my kitchen in another post. Enjoy! xoxo K.
I've added a couple shots of the whole room since I wanted to update the photos from my sidebar on this room.
Antlers replaced the greens and pinecones in my large wooden bowl.
Here are a couple more shots as you are heading into the dining room.

I think these are the prettiest pictures you have ever shared!! I love the pie safe... so swoon worthy!
ReplyDeleteLove your home, it is so warm and inviting. My question is where did you purchase the old fashioned white with lettering cushion on the oak chair ?
ReplyDeleteLové the pie safe, my mother has a large one from the floor to about four feet tall had about 30 wide, it's so primitive. I can see why you want to keep it, in fact I am not sure how you would part with anything from your home. You have such a great look and a style of your own.
ReplyDeleteI am on the hunt for more iron stoneware your collection is amazing.
See you soon sweet friend, have a beautiful weekend

I used to have a small pie safe like yours a long tine ago. I think I use to keep old chocolate molds in mine. Now I'm asking myself, "why did I sell it"! BTW, your house looks amazing!

Love the pie safe and all the lovely decor!! :) Happy Weekend! xx Holly
ReplyDeleteLove the pie safe. I do still love 'brown wood' and have also added a few small pieces here and there the last few days! I mean not everything has to be white, right? The safe looks great with your pitchers, and I am jealous of your cafe au lait bowls. I have been searching for some lately (but need a good price). Do you find them in your area? I've only seen them for sale on Etsy and Ebay.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend,
Blessings

Oh, how nice! I had a large one that was my Grandparents, but it was too unstable to move when the house was sold. My husband has just started woodworking. Maybe someday he can make me a punched tin pie safe!

ReplyDeleteYou would have to be mad to sell that....it is stunning...the way you have it is just perfect (go figure) How do you get your floors so shiny?? x0x0
ReplyDeleteAn old pie safe like yours is on my "want" list. I would love to find an old white or galvanized one. I do love yours!
ReplyDeleteSigh...your home just makes my heart go pitter patter with all of the lovely old home accents. Each one perfection on their own, and then you touch them, and find them each their perfect place to shine! So much to love...so much character and warmth. Truly a feast to look at, Kathleen. You have a gift gal!! Truly! The pie safe...utterly charming!
